striped tees

striped tees are the core of my wardrobe (i'll admit that i favor blue and white over any other color combination). they are perfect for days when i don't know what i want to wear, and they are perfect for days when i'm sick of everything in my closet. i always feel good wearing one of my striped tees, and they pair well with whatever jeans, shorts, or skirt i'm wearing that day. they also help me channel my inner kate, audrey, or alexa.

similar to jeans, i feel like striped tees are personal to the person who wears them. there are particular styles that fit better than others. i typically stay away from any bold, wide-width stripes (not only do i look like i belong in a jail cell, i appear much shorter and wider). and most of my tees are boatneck or more relaxed at the neckline.

i've rounded up some striped tee picks below! i'd also like to add that i recently bought the striped dress from this post! it's the striped dress of my dreams.

emma roberts x elkin

doesn't emma roberts look absolutely stunning as the model for elkin's fall campaign? i've seen a few images from this campaign floating around, and they are too pretty to not share them. the collection was inspired by the designers' (kara and brit smith) boarding school days. they really clicked creatively with emma and they enjoyed pulling together inspiration from different eras while styling emma. some of the looks have a dark and witchy '90s vibe, while others have a '60s french schoolgirl-inspired look.

not going to lie, i've actually purchased a few items on this week's wish list. so instead of telling you why it's on my wish list, i can tell you why i love it!

let's start with these jeans. ever since j.crew revamped their denim collection this past spring i've been a huge fan. i have a few pair of the toothpick skinny jeans, and now i have a boyfriend fit to add to my collection. i wanted to get a lighter wash with some slight distressing and these fit the bill perfectly. what i love about this particular pair of boyfriend jeans is that they have a slimmer fit. they are fitted through the waist and thigh and relax from the knees through the ankles. i can wear them now with sandals and tees, and in the fall they'll look great with sweaters and ballet flats!

this candle was a complete impulse buy, but i don't regret it. madewell carries a lot of "brands they love" products in-store, and this fall they started carrying p.f. candle co. candles. i got the sweet grapefruit scent and it smells divine. i found their website and i now have a long list of scents i want to try!

one: clu embroidered silk-trimmed cashmere sweater / two: j.crew broken-in boyfriend jean in colby wash / three: illesteva leonard sunglasses / four: jouer lip enhancer conditioning lip treatment / five: p.f. candle co. candle in sweet grapefruit

weekly doodle 89

i hope you enjoyed your weekend! my brother and sister go back to school later this week so there's been a lot of shopping and organizing going on around here. it's definitely motivated me to clean up and organize my space (although, for the record, i do consider myself to be pretty clean and tidy). once i'm done i plan to buy some fresh flowers to brighten up the space. i recently bought a glass from anthropologie with little pineapples around it that's just begging to be filled with some fresh blooms!

happy friday!

happy friday! i hope you all had a good week! i feel like i will never not associate the end of august as the time to go back to school. i graduated last december, so i've already been out for a while, but it's strange to have summer ending and not be running around shopping and packing last minute. it's nice, however, to enjoy the end of summer for what it is and not be sitting in a classroom!

i hope you have a great weekend! be sure to check out this week's links below!

i mentioned how much i love loeffler randall earlier this week. jessie randall is the creative director and she discussed her beauty uniform on cup of jo this week.

step into jenna lyons' j.crew office...

although i love my batiste dry shampoo, someday i'm going to treat myself to the bumble and bumble pret-a-powder.

a summer dish i'm dying to try: caramelized peach caprese with smoked sea salt.

a pair of d'orsay flats are on my wish list for fall. these vince flats look buttery soft!
